Growth strain report available

September 9, 2019

A summary of a four-year MPI Sustainable Farming Fund project – ‘Minimising growth strain in eucalypts to transform processing‘ – is available. The project developed techniques to test large numbers of young eucalypt trees for growth strain  – a major constraint affecting milling of eucalypts. The project was successful in identifying superior genotypes with low growth      strain, and these will be incorporated into the NZDFI breeding programme.

Hard copies of the report are available from its author, Dr. Clemens Altaner: clemens.altaner@canterbury.ac.nz
